Development of MusicBee Remote resumes with plans to modernize the Android app. Updates include Android 15 support, codebase modernization, and the eventual return to Play Store. Website transitions from Jekyll to VitePress for improved performance.

Development entered hiatus in July 2018 due to relocation. Prior to pause, significant progress made on plugin rewrite with new features like podcast support. Android app rewrite was incomplete, featuring major architectural changes (Room/Paging replacing DBFlow, MVVM replacing MVP) and improved sync mechanism. Project open for collaboration, though currently inactive.

Project continues with focus on optimization, particularly improving library metadata sync (reduced from 5-6 minutes to 16-17 seconds for 16,000 tracks). New features planned include radio station sync, output switching, and library view sorting. Users encouraged to report issues on GitHub.

Version 1.1.0 released to Play Store beta channel, requiring matching plugin v1.1.0. Plans to move to production channel by end of week if no major issues found. Development of v1.2.0 with new features to begin soon.

Windows Defender false positive resolved. Bug fix update v1.1.0 coming in next few weeks, addressing issues like "No results" for compilation Artists. Plugin fixes planned for favorite button and rating issues with non-English locales. After v1.2.0 release, focus will shift to v2.0.0 development with only bug fixes for v1.x.

v1.0.0 released with library browsing and playlist support. Website updated using Jekyll platform. v1.0.1 available on Play Store, with v1.0.2 planned for bug fixes. v2.0.0 in development will bring major changes including album covers, improved album views, enhanced playlist management, and shift from TCP Socket to web technologies (HTTP/WebSocket). Future web application planned. Downloads now available through GitHub Releases.

Windows Defender incorrectly flagging plugin installer as malware; dispute submitted. VirusTotal shows only two minor engines marking it as malicious, while major antivirus engines find no issues. Plugin built using NSIS, and build machines run Avast with no infection reports. Manual installation via 7z archive available as alternative.

New version available in Play Store testing channel with matching plugin v0.12 required. Plans to move to stable channel in a week if no issues found. Next minor update to include lockscreen/homescreen widget before resuming work on playlist and library support features.

Development delayed due to mandatory 9-month army service starting March 11th. Limited computer and internet access expected during this period, affecting update timeline and communication responsiveness.

Plugin v0.9.6 released fixing connection acceptance and MusicBee crash issues. Development of playlist support functionality has resumed. Android app updated to fix settings dialog crash on Android 2.2 devices.

Plugin update released to fix issue where plugin would stop accepting connections.

Test version 0.9.4 available with known Android 2.x issues to be fixed; stable version expected on Google Play by week's end.

Major update coming soon: featuring JSON protocol upgrade (requiring both plugin and app updates), improved tablet layout, 5-star rating system with Last.fm integration, new drawer layout navigation, enhanced now playing list with search and sort capabilities, comprehensive library search functionality, and multi-host support with WiFi service discovery.

Development update: Remote Development progress has slowed due to work commitments. Coming soon: reworked now playing list, enhanced playlist features with 500+ track support, and new status notifications. Future plans include library integration and tablet optimization.
